I had a mixed experience at Kizashi The Suite in Kyoto. The location was absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of the Gion District with easy access to public transport and stunning sights. While the rooms were spacious and comfortable, the hotel itself felt a bit dated, and the dining options were quite limited. Overall, it's a viable option if you manage expectations.

The rooms were really spacious with traditional tatami areas, perfect for relaxing or enjoying takeout. However, some amenities like the Bluetooth speakers were tricky to use.

My stay at Kizashi The Suite in Gion was enjoyable overall, but it came with a few quirks. The location is fantastic, nestled in the heart of Gion, allowing easy access to temples, shopping, and the chance to see Geishas. The rooms are impressively spacious, especially the traditional tatami areas, but the hotel itself shows some signs of age. Service had its ups and downs, mainly because the staff's limited English made communication a bit tricky at times. Overall, I found good value for money despite a few minor issues.

Rooms

The rooms are very large for Japan, with a spacious tatami area perfect for relaxing and extra sleeping space. I appreciated the generous bathroom amenities and the daily stock of free beer in the fridge.
Service

While the staff was friendly and eager to assist, the language barrier was sometimes a challenge. However, they went out of their way to help translate menus and provide support when needed.
Location

The hotel's location is unbeatable, just steps from Yasaka Shrine and surrounded by historical attractions and dining options. It's a great base for exploring the area.
Dining

There are no dining options on-site, but the proximity to Starbucks for breakfast is a plus. I wish there were more on-site food options available.
Facilities

The hotel has a few amenities available, but it lacks traditional hotel facilities. It's a modest setup, with room service and housekeeping, but nothing too luxurious.

My stay at Kizashi The Suite in Gion was quite enjoyable, primarily due to its fantastic location and spacious rooms. The hotel is located on a lively street, yet once inside, it feels serene and inviting. However, the lack of clear signage and reception made my arrival a bit tricky, and communication with the staff was limited as they didn't speak much English. Overall, if you're looking for big rooms and a great location in Kyoto, this place is a solid choice.
